This exhibit features new and recent works by two award-winning artists of the Portola Art Gallery: Alice Weil and Mary K. Stahl.
Alice Weil uses oil paints to capture the golden foothills and oaks of the Bay Area in her paintings. She uses beautiful saturated color and portrays the light on the landscape in such a way as to produce lively, yet harmonious, paintings.
Alice's paintings have been exhibited at the Triton Museum, in Santa Clara, CA, at the prestigious Greenhouse Gallery of Fine Art in San Antonio, Texas, and the Art Museum of Los Gatos.
Mary K. Stahl's rendition of quiet landscapes and still life subjects reflects her emotional response to her subjects. Her paintings resonate with a unique sense of time and place that calm and beckon the viewer into the scene. She paints with soft pastels or oil paints.
Mary’s paintings have been exhibited at the Triton Museum, the Haggin Museum in Stockton, CA, and the Art Museum of Los Gatos, and she has participated in many juried plein air painting competitions. Recently, she was awarded the Fine Art Connoisseur "Emerging Artist" Award during the Carmel Art Festival. She is a signature member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast.
Portola Art Gallery exhibits high quality representational art by thirteen Bay Area artists. Painting, pastel and photography, bronze sculpture and pottery can be viewed at the gallery, located at the Historic Allied Arts Guild in Menlo Park, CA.
